The hype is real for the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Japan will surely make it great and most memorable as well. And recently, people gets more excited as usual and they seemed to promote their favorite personalities to be part of that prestigious event. So several unofficial polls started to float around the internet like this and this and the fans will just go with the flow lol.
But does that poll results will affect the official lineup for the Olympics? The answer is probably no. The official poll (if there is) should be featured on the Tokyo Olympic’s official site or at least the organizers will nominate the most deserving artists that should represent Japan and then publish a poll on its official site, not on any other blog sites.
All I can say is that the Olympics organizers, Japanese government, specially Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will most likely to choose which artist/group shall perform for the pride of Japan.
These perhaps were the best option or possibility on how Japan will choose which artists will going to perform in such a great world event:
Remember that Japan was promoting Anime at the closing ceremony of Rio Olympics and there is a great chance for anison artists to perform. Popular acts includes µ’s, Nana Mizuki, LiSA, Eir Aoi, Kalafina, UVERworld, T.M.Revolution, Minori Chihara, JAM Project, Miku Hatsune (virtual), etc.
● IDOL Units
In terms of popularity, idol units and groups were always consistent. Their singles and albums were always at the top of Oricon charts. They can sing, dance, act and can do anything to swoon their fans. Most popular idol groups includes Arashi, EXILE, KAT-TUN, Hey!Say!JUMP!, Morning Musume, AKB48, HKT48, 46G, etc.
● Jpop/Jrock Bands
Some Jpop/Jrock bands also sings for anime but these groups were recognized mainly for their respective unique genres, making them even more popular in Japan and abroad. Best examples were One OK Rock, SCANDAL, Babymetal (rock genre), the Gazette, X Japan (Visual Kei), ALI Project, Kalafina (neoclassical pop), Sekai no Owari (indie pop), AAA (mixed) and PERFUME (techno pop).
● Popular Solo Artists
I’ve been listening to Japanese music for more than 10 years and these set of artists were so popular even on hiatus. They were literally Japan’s pride. Big names includes Utada Hikaru, Namie Amuro, Koda Kumi, Ayumi Hamasaki, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, YUI, etc.
All our favorite Japanese artists were deserving and yet, the most popular and talented acts shall be chosen and will most likely to perform. So, do you think your favorite artists has a chance to perform on 2020 Tokyo Olympics? Lemme know how you think!
